Salesforce Health & Roadmap

A clear, senior-led picture of your Salesforce environment, before you decide what to fix, rebuild, or outsource.

A fixed-scope assessment of your existing Salesforce environment: architecture, automation, integrations, data, security, and technical debt. It ends with a prioritised 90-day roadmap, not a slide deck of generic best practices, and it’s led directly by a senior Salesforce architect, not delegated to a junior analyst running a checklist.

What a Salesforce health check actually covers

A health check is a structured review of eight areas of your Salesforce environment, carried out directly by a senior architect rather than delegated to junior staff running an automated scan.

AreaWhat we actually look at
ArchitectureOrg structure, data model, sharing model, and multi-org or multi-cloud design decisions
AutomationFlow, Apex triggers, legacy Process Builder, and where automation overlaps or conflicts
IntegrationsWhat's connected, how reliably, error handling, and coupling to systems like SAP, ERP, or marketing platforms
Data & securityData quality, field-level security, sharing rules, and profile/permission set hygiene
Technical debtDeprecated components, hardcoded logic, unsupported customisations, and upgrade risk
Release & operating modelHow changes actually get made, tested, and deployed, and who owns that process
DocumentationWhat exists, what's missing, and what only lives in one person's head
Agentforce & AI readinessData quality and governance gaps that would undermine a responsible AI rollout

Do you need a Salesforce health check?

Not every organisation needs one right now. It usually earns its cost when Salesforce has become important enough to the business that nobody can afford to keep guessing about its condition.

Get a health check when...You probably don't need one yet when...
Changes that used to take days now take weeks, or need workaroundsYour org is small, stable, and changes are rare
You're about to commit budget to a new partner, hire, or platformYou already have one clear, well-scoped problem, in which case a Fix Sprint is faster
Your current Salesforce partner is leaving, or you're not confident in their workYou had a formal architecture review in the last 6-12 months and nothing material has changed
Nobody in the organisation has a full picture of what's actually been builtYour internal team already maintains clear, current architecture documentation
You're evaluating Agentforce or other AI features and aren't sure your data can support itYou're using largely standard Salesforce functionality with minimal customisation

What you get at the end

The output is a written report and a working session, not just a document that sits in a shared drive. Every finding maps to one of five things:

Current state

What's actually built, and how it really works

Risks

What could break, and what that would cost

Quick wins

Fixes that don't need a project

Priorities

What matters most, ranked

90-day roadmap

A sequenced plan you can act on

How it runs

  1. Scoping call

We agree what's in and out of scope based on your environment's size, integrations, and complexity.

  2. Environment & code review

Architecture, automation, integrations, data, and security, reviewed directly by a senior Salesforce architect.

  3. Stakeholder interviews

Short conversations with the people who actually use and maintain the org, to surface what metadata alone won't show.

  4. Findings & roadmap

Prioritised risks, quick wins, and a 90-day roadmap, written for technical and business stakeholders alike.

  5. Debrief session

A working session to walk through the findings and agree what happens next, with no obligation to continue with CloudAvant.

What it costs

Health & Roadmap engagements are fixed scope and fixed price, quoted after a short scoping call once we understand your org’s size, number of integrations, and how many stakeholders we need to talk to. Discuss your Salesforce needs to get a scope and a price before committing to anything.

A health check is a diagnosis, not a delivery project. If you already know exactly what’s wrong, a Salesforce Fix Sprint is usually faster and cheaper. If what you need is ongoing capacity rather than a one-off review, that’s Salesforce Expertise as a Service.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Salesforce health check cost?

It depends on the size and complexity of your org, so CloudAvant quotes Health & Roadmap engagements after a short scoping call rather than publishing a flat price. Scope is driven mainly by the number of integrations, the amount of customisation, and how many stakeholders need to be interviewed, not by user count alone.

How long does a Salesforce health check take?

Most engagements run two to three weeks from the initial scoping call to the final roadmap debrief, though this varies with org complexity and stakeholder availability.

What access do you need to our org?

Read-only access to the relevant sandbox or production metadata, plus time with two or three people who actually use and maintain the org. CloudAvant does not need write access to conduct a health check.

What's the difference between a health check and an architecture review?

In practice, CloudAvant uses the terms for the same underlying engagement: a structured assessment of your Salesforce environment. "Health check" signals breadth across architecture, automation, integrations, data, and security. "Architecture review" is sometimes used when a client already knows the assessment should focus specifically on technical design decisions, such as the object model, sharing model, or integration patterns.

Are we obligated to use CloudAvant for the fixes afterwards?

No. The roadmap is yours to action internally, with your existing partner, or with CloudAvant. Some clients use the health check specifically to get an independent view before deciding who should do the follow-on work.

Is this worth doing for a smaller Salesforce org?

It depends less on headcount than on how dependent the business has become on Salesforce and how much undocumented complexity has built up. A 60-person company running significant automation and two or three integrations often has more to gain from a health check than a 300-person company using Salesforce in a fairly standard way.

Can a health check replace our Salesforce implementation partner?

No, and it isn't meant to. A health check is an independent diagnostic, not an implementation team. If your current partner relationship isn't working, the health check gives you an objective baseline to bring to that conversation, or to a new partner.
